Saw something interesting today that I did not know . We had an IBM thinkpad hooked to a 5500 testing snmp traps . When we powered down the laptop it amazingly kept the link to the switch up , lights on the switch and when you did a show port it still showed connected . Anyone else ever see this ? I thought when you powered down a device it would shut off the nic card and drop the link .
