Power supply

We have a 7206 that is running c7200-ds-mz.122-24a.bin with a single power supply.

We keep getting the following messages

Jun 21 22:51:22.473: %ENVM-6-PSCHANGE: Power Supply 1 changed from QCS DC Power Supply to removed

Jun 21 22:59:30.623: %ENVM-6-PSCHANGE: Power Supply 1 changed from removed to QCS DC Power Supply

Why the router adds this power supply then remnoves it when in fact there is no power supply 1 at all.

Any help will be appreciated.

This is a known issue. It's cosmetic. See http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Bugtool/onebug.pl?bugid=CSCdj14799

Release note:

"7206 chassis with single power supply may generate

repeated power supply change

messages as follows:

%ENVM-6-PSCHANGE: Power Supply 1 changed from

Zytek DC Power Supply to

removed

%ENVM-6-PSCHANGE: Power Supply 1 changed from

removed to Zytek DC Power

Supply

due to floating PS0_ID or PS1_ID signals when the

power supply slot is empty.

It was fixed in 7204 midplanes. 7206 customers may

disable these messages by

doing:

router# conf t

router(config)# logging con notification

router# end

Only informational and debug messages will be

turned off as a result."
