Printing via Appletalk through a 3548XL-EN

Howdy. We've recently replaced our Cisco 29xx switches with Cisco 3548 switches on our office LAN.

Since that time I've found that two Macintosh computers will not consistantly print through the new switches. I've verified this by connecting the computers directly to the networked printer and they work perfect every time. This is only a problem on my Macs running Appletalk (OS 9.22). My newer Macs running OSX.2 work fine. Is there some command I need to enter on my switch or ports to make Appletalk work more reliably?

Hi Ken,

The command you are looking for is spanning-tree portfast. Enter this command on each port connected to one of your OS 9 Macs and that should help alleviate the problem.
