Problem Configuring the GBIC 5483 on The 2950 Switch

I Had A Problem and would be glad if you help me solve it.

We want to test a GBIC 5483(1000 Base T) gigabit interface card on a Cisco 2950 Switch.

We have a straight Throw cable connected to it and on the other side we have a PCI Gigabit Network Adapter on a the computer connected to it.

When we connect it the gbic LED's Go off after a few second's.There is no detection on the computer that the network caple has been pluged.

We wated to copy the IOS on the switch to the tftp server using this GBIC.

What are the commands that we have to enter on the switch so we can check if the GBIC is working properly.

What IOS are you running? WS-G5483 is supported from from 12.1(6)EA2b
