Proxy arp

Hello,

To increase the loading of web page, i want to enable proxy arp option into the UBR7114.

Is the lactency can be affect ? What memory is request for it?

If I'm correct Proxy Arp is not used for Proxy. What does ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) ? ARP is used to map a layer 2 address to a layer 3. If a source wants to communicate with a destination on layer 3 it has to know the destinations IP address. The source will broadcast (ARP) a request. In norma ARP the destination will respond with its IP address. In Proxy ARP the router will pretend it is the destination and will answer with the routers IP address. With the communication between source and destination the router will forward the packets to the real destination, but will NOT do a proxy (therefore the name proxy ARP and not PROXY).
