RAS solution

Dear all,

I need your sugestion regarding RAS solution, here i s my situation.

I have one router 3660 as backup for WAN router (turn off condition) and i want to utilize it as RAS to replace router 2509.

In my opinion to deploy it, i need to buy several component as follows:

- 30 Port Digital Modem Network Module (NM-30DM); 1 EA

- 1-Port Channelized T1/ISDN-PRI with CSU Network Module (NM-1CT1-CSU); 1 EA

I have several question:

1. Is the router 3660 work well as RAS with those additional component?

2. Are there any component do i need?

3. compare to dedicated RAS such as AS-5350, which is better?

Hi

In my working place we are using 3660 as a RAS but only for ISDN dial in connections since i dont have any digital modem NM installed in tht and it works fine.

Authentication being taken care by radius also with local authentication.

We r using the same since we have got some of our wan links connected to tht 3660.

i hope it shuld suit ur requirment too but again u need to have the ios and other H/W compatibilities to serve ur purpose.
