Dear sir,

I found some result difference between 'show interface' and 'show controller vip 1 tech'

my router is 7513. here is the configuration:

"

interface FastEthernet1/0/0

speed 10

no cdp enable

"

here is the 'show interface' for Fe1/0/0:

"

FastEthernet1/0/0 is up, line protocol is up

MTU 1500 bytes, BW 10000 Kbit, DLY 1000 usec, rely 255/255, load 69/255

Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set

Keepalive set (10 sec)

Half-duplex, 10Mb/s, 100BaseTX/FX

ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00

Last input 00:00:11, output 00:00:00, output hang never

Last clearing of "show interface" counters 2d15h

Queueing strategy: fifo

Output queue 0/40, 0 drops; input queue 0/75, 0 drops, 0 flushes

5 minute input rate 3494000 bits/sec, 566 packets/sec

5 minute output rate 2735000 bits/sec, 526 packets/sec

96215785 packets input, 727959610 bytes, 0 no buffer

Received 738 broadcasts, 0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles

6959 input errors, 6958 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 1 ignored

0 watchdog, 0 multicast

0 input packets with dribble condition detected

830849341 packets output, 1425000 bytes, 0 underruns

2918 output errors, 4706791 collisions, 0 interface resets

0 babbles, 2145 late collision, 1 deferred

25 lost carrier, 0 no carrier

0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out

"

here is the 'show interface' under 'show controller vip 1 tech':

"

FastEthernet0/0 is up, line protocol is up

MTU 1500 bytes, BW 100000 Kbit, DLY 100 usec, rely 255/255, load 1/255

Keepalive not set

Half-duplex, 100Mb/s, 100BaseTX/FX

ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00

Last input never, output never, output hang never

Last clearing of "show interface" counters never

Queueing strategy: fifo

Output queue 0/40, 0 drops; input queue 0/75, 0 drops, 0 flushes

5 minute input rate 4844000 bits/sec, 729 packets/sec

5 minute output rate 0 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec

10110 packets input, 8425773 bytes, 0 no buffer

Received 0 broadcasts, 0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles

71356102 input errors, 71353933 CRC, 798 frame, 0 overrun, 2125 ignored

0 watchdog, 0 multicast

35621987 input packets with dribble condition detected

0 packets output, 0 bytes, 0 underruns

3084 output errors, 47899200 collisions, 7 interface resets

0 babbles, 2146 late collision, 1 deferred

36 lost carrier, 0 no carrier

0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out

"

These 2 interfaces are the same as they have same mac address.

And you can see the difference:

working speed;

keepalive setting;

load statistics;

and there is no output statistics data;

Why? Can anybody tell me?

Thank you very much.

Regards,

Sha

To the best of my knowledge, the results in show interface command is accurate.I dont know about the show controller outout, it may be internal debug usage.

Doesn't look like the same interface to me one is F1/0/0 and the other F0/0 , different slots... not the same interface .
