RME update inventory fails when "Username: ^ or t" is present

I have at least 10-20 routers (not always the same ones) at any given time that end up on the Import Status list with so-called "attribute" errors. I re-enter the proper settings into RME and stil the login fails. Why doesn't RME make more than one attempt? It's driving me crazy. The reason it fails is that often when you telnet into a router, you will see a "^" or "t" as the first character in the username. Has anyone figured out a solution? Is it a feature or a bug?

What is the RME version that you're using?. It's problem with the IOS and not with RME itself. See CSCdp68064 and CSCdm14945 via CCO Bug Toolkit.

Good Day

Yes, I understand your frustration with this "BUG". We experienced exactly the same problem on our 2600 series routers. An upgrade from IOS Version 12.0(5)T1 to Version 12.2(7) solved this problem. Howerer we also had to upgrade the flash to accomodate the image.

PS! the upgrade was not to get rid of the bug but to deploy enhanced features.
