Router auxiliary line configuration

Hello,

We have a dedicated line going to our client's datacenter. We have a dedicated telephone connected to the modem which is connected to the auxiliary port of the router. Their security policy says that the telephone line should disconnect after idle time of 5 minutes. I have following configuration. But the telephone line is not dropping after idle time of more than 5 minutes. Can somebody guide me?

line aux 0

session-timeout 5

exec-timeout 5 0

timeout login response 10

absolute-timeout 5

login local

escape-character BREAK

autohangup

TIA

Hello,

that could be a problem with your modem rather than with the AUX port settings. Try and reset your modem to factory defaults with the AT&F command. Or try to configure the AT&Dn Data Terminal Ready settings:

AT&D3 Reset (ATZ) on DTR-drop, which causes the modem to hang up

Regards,

Georg

Georg,

The modem is a US Robotic V90 external modem. How can I configure the modem which is at a remote location?

Please help me.

Regards and thanks

ppp timeout idle is not a valid command it only shows authentication, ncp and retry. Sorry it did not work.

Thanks
