Routing decision between internal and external routes

wondering if anyone can help me with the following scenario....

if a router learns 2 routes to a destination network, one from EIGRP (=admin distance of 90) and another from eBGP (admin distance = 20); which will it prefer?

will the router in this case ignore the admin distance, and prefer an 'internal' route to an 'internal' network, rather than choose an external route?

It will place the route with the lowest admin dist in the routing table

EBGP route would be prefered over the higher cost EIGRP route. Lower distance wins. An IBGP route (200) would not be prefered over EIGRP.

Hope this helps,

hi,

you can use "distance" command in bgp or eigrp to claim your internal network ip address to a different distance.
