We currently have a 256k circuit to site X and use eigrp.
We will be installing a 2mb circuit to our sitte X. This goes over a 3rd party ip backbone. We need to run IPsec over this for security. to our site X
Both 256k and 2mb terminate on the same router in site x
Will eigrp load balance across the 2mb and 256k? What happens when the 256k if full will eigrp just send down the 2mb?

It will chosses the path with the more attractive metric , If the 256 K line has a lower delay then the 2 MB this link will be chosen .

If you configure variance with a number large enough to cause EIGRP to install both routes in the routing table, then the routing table will use the difference between the two metrics to compute a load share value. This load share value is then used to determine how much traffic is shipped down each link.

Will probably help you understand the process better without me rewriting it here. :-)
