Hi,
I'm new to Cisco products....
I have to setup a Cisco 831 router.
The WAN ip of the 831 is 83.92.210.166/255.255.255.252.
I then have a network (LAN side) that i need to be able to see from the Internet this network is 83.92.223.64/29.
How do i setup the 831 so that i can see this ip-net from the Internet.
Right now i can only see the WAN ip on the 831.
Thanks,
Strunk

My guess is that your LAN IP's are not routed at all.
Call your service provider (+45 70 12 70 50), and tell them to route them.
To check if I am right and to check when it works.
Try making an extendend ping to your next-hop using your LAN interface as the source.
like this:
831-router#ping
Protocol [ip]:
Target IP address: y.x.210.165
Repeat count [5]:
Datagram size [100]:
Timeout in seconds [2]:
Extended commands [n]: y
Source address or interface: e 0
Type of service [0]:
Set DF bit in IP header? [no]:
Validate reply data? [no]:
Data pattern [0xABCD]:
Loose, Strict, Record, Timestamp, Verbose[none]:
Sweep range of sizes [n]:
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to y.x.210.165, timeout is 2 seconds:
Packet sent with a source address of y.x.223.65
!!!!!
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 16/19/24 ms
831-router#
And as gpauwen says make sure your LAN interface is up/up.
Held og lykke.

You should definitly disable NAT, now that you've got your public addresses working, so your config will look somthing like this.
interface Ethernet0
ip address y.x.223.65 255.255.255.248
no ip nat inside
!
interface Ethernet1
ip address y.x.210.166 255.255.255.252
no ip nat outside
!
no ip nat inside source list ........?
!
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 y.x.210.165

What you can do here is place the LAN IP as a secondary IP on the WAN port. Place a LAN IP on the network and route it so that traffic from 83.92.223.64 goes to that network.

I have given the LAN side of the router the 83.92.223.64/29 ip-net.
And the WAN side of the router is 83.92.210.166.
How do i go from there ?.
Should i setup a static route and route the 83.92.223.64/29 to the LAN side ?.

Hello,
have you assigned an IP address from the range 83.92.223.64/29 to one of the Ethernet interfaces, and is that interface up/up ? Can you post your configuration ?

GP

tekha You where corerct the LAN ip's where not routed at all.
When the routing is working how is the correct way to set this up ?.
Should i assign the 83.92.223.64/29 net on the LAN side and disable NAT on the router ?.
Will the LAN side then be accessible from the Internet ?.
Thanks,
Strunk

Thanks tekha :-)
It is now working !!!
