RPS 675 and 3750

Hi

We have a couple of RPS-675 and we have a big UPS deployment on the table...the thing is that someone here got those RPSes thinking it would allow us to work quickly, not having to unplug&replug all the devices which will be plugged on the ups. (and thus avoid having to wait for our maintenance hours)

I've tried the RPS with a 3750. As long as I use it and do not re-establish AC, it's working fine...but if I try to fall back onto AC after having the RPS feed DC for a while, it always end up with my switch rebooting. Is it me who's doing sth wrong or is it just not the purpose of an RPS?

Why isn't there a command that's documented to allow people to fall back on the main power source just like there is one to choose whichever power supply you wish to use on a 6509???

thanks

M.

That is the expected behavior with RPS for 3550 and 3750. The following bug was written for 3550 but applies to any RPS

This is a problem. Is the limitation in the RPS itself, or the switch? In an environment like mine, it's essential to be able to switch back and forth from one power source or another, and if the switch might intermittantly reboot, this is no good. Many of us don't have the real estate for a larger switch (~4500) with true redundant power supplies, and have to settle for an RPS. Will the log show when an RPS has taken over power?
