Hello, I have the following scenario
cat6509-----cat4006-----cat2950-----cat2950
I have setup a vlan for span on the 6509, added the monitor session commands on the cat2950's but I can only see broadcast traffic on the monitored port( I see the correct monitored vlan but not specific traffic eg icmp etc). I think there is a problem with the supervisor on the cat4006 which is a "WS-X4013". Here are my configs
cat2950
monitor session 2 source int f0/42
monitor session 2 destination remote vlan 700 reflector-port Fa0/4
cat2950 no, 2
monitor session 2 destination interface Fa0/4
monitor session 2 source remote vlan 700
I have trunked the vlan 700 all the way between the switches
Any help would be appreciated. I have tried moving the root of the spanning tree for vlan 700 to be one of the 2950's but there is no command to do a rspan on the vlan of 700, only on the 6509 or the cat4006 is there a set "vlan 700 rspan" command.
