Hi,
I have some relatives in Mexico (Mexicali) who live in a very poor area of town. I was thinking of doing a project for their community where I setup a small internet cafe or community internet zone for school kids. I know they have phone lines but, not sure if they have cable (probably). As an alternative to those I was thinking of satellite broadband as a means of getting Internet to these kids. Can anyone offer some insight into, in general, data rates, costs, protocols when dealing with Satellite broadband; specifically in Mexico?
If there are other non-profit projects that you've heard of similar to this one I'd like to hear about them.
Thanks!
