SHOW DIAG - need exact model number from displayed part number

I have over 400 routers and need to get an inventory of what each one has for interfaces. I was able to get a complete listing for each router's SHOW DIAG. The SHOW DIAG doesn't actually list the specific model interface name. However, it does give a part number. I need to find a way to associate the part number to a specific interface model name. I would then grep for each part number string to get a count of what type of interfaces I have on each router. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can do this?

The Cisco product tool Ciscoworks VMS and RME would be able to give you a detailed chassis (including your modules/interfaces type/count) report.
