Show standby command

Hi,

When i monitor the "Show standby " command output---

Local state is Init (interface down)

I have shutdown the interface manually to check the hsrp fucntion,could be administratively down.Any idea would be appreciated.

Instead of using "shutdown" command which will bring the interface administratively down, try to unplug the cable from that port. That will put the serial interface in down/down mode or change the encap to make it in up/down mode and see what "sh standby" reports. I think that is the right way to test it.
