Hi Everone,
Could someone please tell me the command on a 6509 to see how much memory is installed and how much the switch is currently using?
Many thanks,
PS - does anyone know the max memory that can be put in a 6509?

Hi,
I'm assuming that you're referring to CatOS here. The last few lines of output of the "sh ver" command will tell you how much memory the supervisor engine has, the amount used and the amount free.
The answer to the max supported memory depends upon the SE type. I've not found anything concrete on this, but the price list shows memory options for the SE1 up to 128M and for the SE 2 up to 256M.

Just to add Sup720 Memory information to the thread ...
Sup720 ships with 2 x 512MB today. There are actually 2 modules each with 512MB on them, 1 for the RP and 1 for the SP.
Sup720 Supports 512 to 1GB. You can upgrade a Sup720 from 512MB to 1GB.
## show version would be the command to verify your DRAM and bootflash memory.
