I've got some switches at our location and with one of them we move a lot of the cables around frequently (don't ask).
I plug the cable in and the light turns on to amber. It takes anywhere from 30sec to 1 minute for it to go green. In most switches we use (non-Cisco), the connection immediately goes active. I've noticed that all our catalysts do this. Is there a setting I can change that makes the connection go active once the cable is in place?
We've got some PCs that boot up before the connection goes active and it cannot resolve anything off the network (DHCP, DNS, etc.). We get a bunch of no network connection found errors and other such related stuff.
It seems as if the port is scanning or booting up or something...I don't know.
