Moved from hubs to a cluster of (3) 2950 switches. Noticed slower response when opening 'My Computer' to see all the network drives - sometimes getting a 'not available' error. OS is Windows XP.
Any ideas???

Are the PCs NICs and switch ports set the same (any errors)? How about the links between the switches, errors? All switches/ports in same vlan? WINS setup?

Is PortFast enabled on the ports that are connected to the hosts (not other switches)?
We had some problems that sound a lot like what you described. Mapped network drives couldn't be found on boot up, etc... We turned PortFast on for just the end-user's PCs, and it works fine now.
