SNMP or NMS error?

im using denika software for monitoring and reporting, but when i try to discover some equipment especially my cat 6k and cisco 7507 RSP 8 following error msg occur "Unknown Vendor or SNMP v2c not responding on port 161". What is the problem here?

The problem is Denika does not know about the device. You need to create an autodiscovery template for the device. The instructions can be found in Knowledge Base Article 170 on Somix Technology's website.

You need a login to CRC to access the knowledge base. If you do not have support on the product, here are the instructions.

1. Go to Admin Tools and select "Template"

2. Select "Autodiscovery" with the default option for a new template

3. Enter the IP and community string of the device that is giving you the "Unknown Vendor" error.

4. Enter in a Device label and select a device type. You will also need to select the report types you want. The most common is port utilization by instance.

5. Once this is saved, you should be able to discover your device.
