Is there a limited number of times one needs to squeeze the bootflash before the Layer crashes. Is there a bug on squeeze command on 6509 hardware?
Thanks!

Hello Abester,
I did a bug search and found the following, which might or might not be applicable in your situation:
CSCdv77613 Bug Details
Headline CPU hog during squeeze sup-bootflash:
Cisco IOS devices using the SHARP INTERNAL FLASH (bootflash) formatted using
an IOS version that doesn't have the fix may hit these errors:
* Bad Device Info Block when trying to execute filesystem commands like dir,
cd, copy
* file does not show up after copy, eventhough copy operation didn't report any error.
The WORKAROUND in these cases is to FORMAT the device with the IOS version that has the fix.
Bug was filed for CAT6K, but is not platform specific.
First Fixed-in Version 12.1(11b)E, 12.1(11.5)E, 12.1(11.5)EC
Is that somehow applicable to you ?
Regards,
GP
