Hi Experts,
Would like to clear a doubt.
With a setup of two 9K series Nexus Switches running vPC peer link between them. A server is connected at access end of these switches. Just taking example.
Switch-A and Switch-B are interconnected and running vPC peer link between them, RSTP is running on these switches . A Server is also connected with these switches like One Leg of Server is connecting on Switch-A and Second Leg of Server is connected on Switch-B on L2 ports.
While checking the STP port status on both switches for respective ports connected with server. We are getting STP state as Forward. initially before checking this we thought that on any of the switch ..server port will be in Forwarding state and other switch server port will be in blocking state due to vPC peer Link & single logical device.
Pl confirm if vPC is independent of STP and states.
Regards
Jimmy

This is the correct operation, on our 9k with VPC links our dual NIC servers have both ports in the FWD state on both 9k devices.

that is beauty of vpPC you have have active/active link, no more blocking.
as long as server configure LACP active /active, you can take advantage of high utilization of bandwidth.
