Sudden bursts of input errors on a serial interface

Over the past couple of days, I've been notified of problems on a T1 to one of our upstream providers. The serial interface on the router (a 2621) will run fine for a while, then show a sudden burst of input and CRC errors, then be fine for a while again. I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting this. If I had a spare DSU module, I'd try swapping it out, but I don't.

Thanks

I would not suggest replacing your CSU/DSU. Call your provider and have them monitor the line to see if they see any errors on both ends . During some down time you can have them stress the line for a few hours .

This has been an ongoing problem for me as well with the exception we are using the 56k CSU/DSU. Telco. shows no problems and I have switched out the WIC with Cisco as well to no avail. I'd be interested to know what you eventually find out. Good Luck.
