I have a catalyst 2950 switch with IOS 12.1(19)EA1 which has a very nice CMS and a great way of loading it onto my local PC. I thought this would be nice if I could use it across all my switch clusters but several of my clusters are made up of catalyst 3500XL switches. Reading some documentation I reckon that I need the later version IOS to be able to use the CMS but can not discover whether I can upgrade my 3500XLs to 12.1(19)EA1. I found a document 'Product Bulletin No. 2339' which in its description has the following '... Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(19)EA1. For more information ... now available in Cisco
IOS Software. It provides a ... feature with the Cisco Catalyst 3500XL. ... ' But nowhere in the document does it mention 3500XL switches. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi Peter,
The latest version of 3500XL code is 12.0(5)WC10 which was released on 07-JUN-2004. There is a download that has the CMS files included, so you can manage your 3500XL clusters using CMS. Let me know how it turns out!

BTW,
I'd recommend to upgrade your 2950.
There is a serious CSCec89172 bug in 12.1(19)EA1 which has been fixed in 12.1(19)EA1a.
See http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat2950/12119ea1/ol517101.htm
or use Cisco BugTool
