Syslog SNMP

I have a secondary address on a router interface and have entered that interface into the CiscoWorks to be polled but it just is not polling. Is this because it is a secondary interface. How can I get it to work?

Thanks

The secondary, assuming the CW machine can reach (ping) it, should work fine. One thing to note is that the router should reply with it's primary ip as the source since this is the router's outbound interfaces primary IP back to your CW machine. Ensure that your CW machine can reach your device (secondary IP). Ensure that your communities are correct. If you are having RME specific issues ensure that your RME version supports the device you are trying to manage.

Hope this helps you,

Don

Thanks Don

Yes I can ping the Syslog server via the secondary ip address only if i do an extended ping. The primary ip address is not accessible from our network but the secondary one is. I can ping the primary but not the secondary with user ping but can ping the secondary only via the privilege ping.
