Temporarily drop out of a connected telnet or ssh session.

Hi community, Can anyone provide the key sequence to temporarily drop out of a connected telnet or SSH session? I have ssh'd from another Cisco device. Or does this only work if I "sessioned" in from the first device?

For most platforms if you press at the same time shift + Ctrl + 6 and then press x it will suspend your telnet session and return you to your original device. After doing this a carriage return will normally return you to your suspended session.
