Hello,
We have a Cisco 7200 router running v11.0x.
When we attempt to download a bootstrap file from a TFTP server, which is located on a different subnet than the machine attempting to download the bootstrap file, we receive a TFTP timeout error.
However, when we download the bootstrap file from the TFTP server located on the same subnet as the machine, it works correctly.
Is there a particular IOS command required to allow the download to complete?
Thanks,
AM

Do you have an IP helper address coded on the outbound interface pointing to the IP address of the TFTP server?
Start with that,

Vincent,
Thanks for the response.
Yes, I had added the IP helper address for the outbound interface pointing to the TFTP server, which is why I was not sure of the reason for the timeout.
I am going to capture the traffic on both subnets to see what is occurring.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Make sure you have a default gateway configured or a "ip default-gateway x.x.x.x" command if you tftp from boot-loader mode.
Hope this helps,
