Hello,
I am interested in any experience with SolarWinds product for analysis and presentations of traffic on a medium sized network. I would like to be able to view all as an administrator, and additionally, provide certain areas for customer access.
If you know of any other products, I would appreciate info on them as well.
Cheers,

What kind of specific traffic analysis are you looking for?. MRTG (http://www.mrtg.org) is a free ware tool that polls the interface traffic and generates html graphs based on the information. Then there's nGenius RTM which is a RMON based application.

We currently use MRTG for our own purposes, and is pretty good at reporting what it does.
I would like to see some aggregated total throughput statistics in a graphed format. MRTG has the info available with some calculations, but not in a visual format.
As well, the SolarWinds product adds more functionality, soon to be released, as far as giving information as to IP source and destination flows. This should be very good for BGP load balancing based on AS destinations.
Mostly though, it is the visual , total aggregated throughput figures I would like to see.
Thanks for the information.

I'm not sure if you are looking for a commercial reporting tool or not. However, if you are, I have used e-Health from Concord http://www.concord.com. The thing that I liked about the tool was that I could get a lot of information in a consolidated format. Also, if I had very little time, I could just look at the most crucial information quickly. The downside of the tools is that it is not cheap. Hope this helps
