traffic-shaping on 7206 problem

Hi,

I am trying to traffic-shape on int fddi2/0 to limit traffic to 15 MB. The line I am using is:

traffic-shape rate 15000000 15000000 1000

Traffic passes thru until traffic shaping kicks in. Once it does I cannot ping my interface from the outside, but yet via the console port is says it is up. I have to issue a shutdown and then a no shutdown to bring the interface back up. Any ideas anyone? I am down to my last few strands of hair right now.

The traffic shaping should have no effect on the interface being up or down. Try removing traffic shaping to see if you can ping the interface. Make sure that the access-list you have set up allow ICMP traffic as well.
