Tx and Rx Pause Frames on Gigabit Ethernet Ports

Can someone please explain Tx and Rx Pause Frames on a Catalyst switch gigabit port?

I think I understand the basics. Please correct me if I'm wrong. (Server receiving data is overloaded inbound and sends a pause frame to the switch, which becomes an rx pause frame in on the switch port). Is that correct?

If so, does that rx pause frame port x automatically become a tx pause frame sent by the switch on port y, if port y is the source of the traffic that is causing the port x device to call for the pause ?

Thanks !
