Upgrading a router with flash memory

Hallo Profs,

I have to upgrade some 2500, 2600 and 3600 routers in a Lab environment with new flash memory. Every router can get the image over the net from a TFTP server, but not in all configuration situations. All routers are two-bank-SIMM-based and all new IOS releases are bigger than the current versions and do not fit in only one of the current banks. Who has a idea to solve the problem?

The crucial issue is: How to get a new image (over TFTP, XMODEM, whatever) to a BLANK !!! internal flash?

This case is settled. The problem is to use a direct connection between the router and the XMODEM partner device and not a reverse Telnet connection.
