Presently we have old cat3k_caa-universialk9.03.06.09.E12b.SPA.bin IOS code.  How can I upgrade to Everest 16.06.08 code? when I do the software install it gives me an error.

Hi there,

have you tried adding the force flag to the install command?:

software install file flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.16.06.08.SPA.bin new force

..this will skip the compatibility checks.

cheers,

Seb.

In the above text I put in the wrong IOS.  It is cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.08.E.152-2.E8.bin...

Thx for response!

Will this change the configuration in anyway?

Making jumps in versions sometimes incurs some depreciated configuration. you will be warned of this when first booting into the new code version. For that reason, always test your upgrade path in a dev environment.

Seb.
