I ma going to upgrade our 6509 sup2's software from 6.3.3 to 6.4.1. According to cisco document I can do this with minimal downtime with the use of Highavailability and highavailability versioning enable. My question is are the 2 version of software 6.3.3 and 6.4.1. Are they high availability compatible. If not what are the consequences. According to one document I might loose my configuration.
Thanks,
gilbert

Gilbert,
With the upgrading of these via HA, it is important to remember to upgrade your standby sup first. You should be able to reboot that sup without any changes taking place. When it comes back up, reboot your primary so that the secondary takes over, this should be very minimal downtime. The following document should help:

Thanks Bo appreciate your reply. Would having 2 different software at a certain point of the upgrade be a problem?

Shouldn't be any problem.
Mainly because the Sup you're upgrading is the standby sup.
So the two versions don't have to interoperate.
