Upgrading WS-C6006 to Sup 720's

We have a customer that ordered new Supervisor 720's blades for his 6006 chasiss...the current switch is Layer 2 only, the new sup's will be running an MSFC...my main question is, will the "WS-C6006" accept these new Supervisor modules; also will they/can they run Sup-2 blades? Thanks for any replies!!!

AFAIK 6006 chassis does not support sup 720. You need atleast 6500 chassis to support sup 720.

Yes cat6006 chassis support sup2.

I'm afraid the SUP-720 is not compatable with the 6000 series, only 6500 & 7600 series.

Chassis compatibility

• Cisco 6503, 6503-E, 6404-E, 6506, 6506-E, 6509, 6509-E, 6509-NEB, 6509-NEB-A, 6513

• Cisco 7603, 7606, OSR-7609, 7609, 7613

Supervisor 2 will go into a 6006.
