Uplinkfast Question

Hi

I have 7 3550's connected together in the form of a loop. I am trying to use uplinkfast and have applied this to all switches bar the root switch (spanning-tree uplinkfast). When I break the link in another position, it takes about 10-15 seconds for the network to failover, I thought it should be quicker than this. Can anyone give me any ideas on if I am doing the right thing here and how to speed this convergence up if possible. I am not a fan of a flat topology but this was the only choice in this senario.

Regards

Uplinkfast should work as explained in the doc below

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/51.html

I think your topology is not truly redundant as required for uplinkfast from your description. The switch whose link fails has to have atleast one blocking link to root . can you tell if that is true in your case.
