I'd be glad if someone here could point me to a document describing the 16 (0-15) privilege levels for the username command on a 3550.
Cant find them in the command reference or the configuration guide.
Thanks!

I'd like to use it to give some ppl rights to check interface status. It's important that they cant affect switch function or change any parameters.

Okies. Thanks.
Let's see if I have understood this right, There are NO accesslevels that are per default accociated with any commands, except from level 0 and 15?
So I need to use the "privilege" command to give the user access to the different commands that I choose. and no matter how I configure, any access level other than 15 cant do a "conf t"?

Hmmm guess Im wrong. I did a "en 1" to enter level 1 without having any "privilege" commands set. I have made no configuration at all regarding this, but yet I could all "show"-commands. Not enter "conf t" tho.
What's the default levels?

Think I got it now. Level 1-14 are the same, and level 1 is default what you get into when you connect to the switch..
