Using loopback interfaces for SNMP

I am running CWSI and one of the administration nightmares is keeping up with the various community strings. Because the network here is controlled through a variety of offices, some subnets use one community string, the next subnet uses another, etc... What I would like to do is similar to what I have on NetView. All of the discovery utilizes the loopback interfaces. With CWSI everything seems to be on the network interfaces. I'm assuming this is because of the CDP portion of the discovery process. Is there any way I can configure the routers and etherswitches to utilize the loopback interface for ALL SNMP. I already have the loopback as the trap source, but that doesn't help with the discovery. I would like to configure a much smaller list of subnets and related community strings.

Campus uses CDP to discover devices, it uses the interface IP address on which device got discovered and not the loopback address. Some workarounds are described in:

unless you've already seen it. I believe that the next version should have this included. If you want to try out the Beta version of Campus Manager 3.3, you can get it from: http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/cw2000-campus
