virtual-access interface appears in upgraded IOS

csross

I upgraded my router to support fast ethernet and fix a security bug that cisco announced. I am running c3640-ik8o3s-mz.122-15.T12. After I upgraded there is a new interface that I am not familiar with, a Virtual-access interface. I read that it has to do with ppp, frame relay, etc. I do have 2 T1 lines with Frame Relay Encapsulation and don't want this possibly allowing some way to get into my network.

If I try and access the interface to issue the shutdown command, it gives a message that I have to configure the interface via the template.

Is there any way to shut this interface or remove it?

thanks

Can you paste your config

I will paste it but the show run does not have any definations of the virtual-access interfaces. You see it when you do a show interfaces. Also in the show-run there are new entries "no voice hpi" and "mta receive". What affect do those entries have? I am new at this so I would appreciate any assistance.
