Hi!
I have configure VLANs in Cat4506 running IOS. I notice that I couldn't see the VLANs configured when I issue show run command. I can still see the configured VLANs by using show vlan command though. Just to be sure, I compare the output of show run and show vlan on a Cat6513 runing IOS, both show the VLANs configured. Is this common to Cat4506? Apreciate some answers from you guys. Thanks

In IOS based switches, the VLAN configuration is held in a seperate database file in flash called vlan.dat. Do a show flash, and you will see it. The way to see the contents is with show vlan and show vtp status. You configure this database using the command vlan database.

You apparently have the switch set as either client or server , if it was set as transparent it would show up in the running config .
