vrf architecture

I'm sorry if this has already been asked but does using vrf require it to be configured on every L3 device in a network? or is it 'locally significant' in the sense that as long as it properly configured on one or two routers, it’s fine. I’m trying to understand vrf outside from an architectural perspective.

Hello

Vrf is locally significante. Basically what vrf does is split the routing table and one routing table does not comminicate with other unless you permit it.

VRF wouldd be similar to VLAN but in layer3.

Depend one topolgy' you need vrf in all router if you want to virtual divide topolgy.(vrf-lite need vrf config in other routers)

If you want only to separate the RIB in one router then only that router need config vrf' this use alot in dmvpn front-vrf branch router.
