I have two routers linked via Frame Relay / ATM combination WAN. At the FRA end router (2620), SH IPX SERVER command displays 273 IPX servers. The ATM end router (2620) however displays only 148 IPX servers. Therefore IPX SAPs must be lost along this path.
I have another similar WAN link working OK and noticed the FRA end router feature set includes "PLUS" features.
I upgraded the FRA end router on the problem link from c2600-d-mz.12.1-14 (IP/IPX/AT/DEC) to c2600-ds-mz.12.1-14 (IP/IPX/AT/DEC/PLUS) and the problem was corrected. Whew. Success. But WHY?
The "Software Advisor", "Compare Releases", list of Features Unique to the "PLUS" version does not include any reference to IPX or SAP. What is it about the PLUS features that ensures sending of SAPs?
