Am trying to get a wic-1enet to address in a 1720. I realise to do this there was a specific IOS ver to use. As well the WIC would only work in WIC0 unless 12.2.xxx was used. My prob is identifying the right release on the download centre. Tech details on site say 12.2(4)T, but what actual file is this?

I have at present

ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.0(3)T

flash file c1700-y-mz.121-26.bin

sh tech gives

WIC Slot 0:

Unknown WAN daughter card

Hardware revision 64.0 Board revision G0

Serial number 0960561920 Part number 130-18710-165

Test history 0x03 RMA number 66-65-48

Connector type PCI

EEPROM format version 4

EEPROM contents (hex):

0x20: 04 FF 40 00 39 41 03 00 82 49 16 A5 03 42 41 30

0x30: 80 00 00 00 00 02 02 C1 8B 56 4D 53 30 36 31 38

Is there some help please?

Hi,

First of all I would like to bring in notice that 1720 Router is EOL product.

Yes WIC-1ENET is supported on 1720 Router.

I think you want to know the suitable IOS that will supportyour Router along with the WIC card. You can upgrade your Router with IOS Version 12.2(15)T14(c1700-y-mz.122-15.T14) with IP feature & if you are using ADSL then select the feature set as IP/ADSL.

The Cisco 1720 supports any combination of two WAN interface cards listed in the following Table, which are also supported by the Cisco 1600, 2600 and 3600 routers. These cards support all common WAN technologies:

Dual-Ethernet (only one WIC-1ENET is supported)

Integrated Service Digital Network (ISDN)

Asynchronous serial

Synchronous serial

Leased lines

Frame Relay

Switched 56

X.25

Switched Multimegabit Data Service (SMDS)

ADSL (not supported on 1600)
