Hi.
Would anybody tell me from your experience if droping a large amount of traffic cosume CPU significantly when
using the ip route *.*.*.* *.*.*.* null0 command.

Dropping a large amount of packets occur when
1. The buffer overflows
2. Hardware problem in the interface
If you have any QOS related commands and it has not been configured correctly, this may happen.

Sending traffic to null0 is one of the most efficient ways to throw stuff away. I have never seen it cause more load than passing the traffic normally would (usually the load is significantly less).
