Hi,
what are the main differences between the routing architecture of the new OSR 7600 (derived from Cat.6500) and the distribuited switch fabric of GigaRouter 12000?
Is there on the CCO a document that describe the routing architecture of 7600?
thanks a lot!
Graz.

Oh, well, a lot.... :-) There's no doc's that I know of at the moment, though downloading the 7600 slides from Networkers and the PS-540 from last year's Networkers (which has a 12000 section in it) would be a good place to start. Inside Cisco IOS Software also has a good section on the 12000 (if I don't say so myself).

thanks a lot!
I've an other question...
the cisco 12000 has a distributed routing capacity with a crossbar switch fabric an the dCEF in any interface card.
Some cisco 7500 have a distributed shared memory architecture with a centralized bus, but with the vip cards... instead 7606-7609 (7603 not) have a crossbar (the same of the catalyst 6500) and dCEF architecture... I think!
it's right ? ? ?
it's not something the same that the 12000's scheme ? ? ?
many thanks!
Graz.
