...Sorry for the first mail,the question is if the BPX 8850 can use as an external clock source on its BCC a 2048Mhz analogue sine wave directly from a Stratum source.This means that the clock is an analogue signal not digitized and encoded with a line code of HDB3/AMI since it is not derived from a PTT transmission link.

I'm pretty sure that won't work. Recently we had the same situation with a Cat8540 that we tried to connect to a Siemens 7100 BITS repeater. That device just delivers a square wave and the Cat needs to see HDB3 coding.
The good news is that plenty devices exist to do the conversion. Look at Symmetricom, Datum or Laruscorp. These devices are designed to accept different (analog) sources and convert to both square wave and HDB3 (or AMI in case of T1).
