Can someone please help me with my problem. I have two computers both XP and they both have network cards. My first computer has a SiS 900-Based PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter and my second computer has Realtek RTL 8029(AS) PCI Ethernet Adapter. I just bought a Fast CAT5e Ethernet Cable so i can connect the two computers together. My fist computer has internet broadband i want to connect my second computer to my first computer as well so it can share the connection. I have connected the two computers toghether but i am not sure what to do from now on. How can my second computer share the internet as well?

Did you buy a Cat5e crossover cable? If you didn't you need one.

Hello,
indeed, you need a crossover cable. After connecting your PCs, check the following link that explains how ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) is configured for Windows XP:

Well this is what it says on the package "Belkin Fast CAT5e Networking Cable", "Premium Snagless Patch Cable", "Ethernet Cable", "RJ45 MALE/MALE" 350MHz. It also says on the back that it is suitable for Broadband Sharing, so it must be the correct cable, right?

You have to buy a crossover cable, in Belkin you can find it with the following description:
CAT5e Crossover Patch Cable.

To check if the cable works fine, check the Link LED in each network card, and be sure to congfigure both in the same TCP/IP network

How does your first computer connect to the internet? With out a second network card for your primary computer you won't be able to connect either to the internet.

DEAR,
IF U JUST WANT TO CONNECT 2 COMPUTERS SO U'LL AHVE TO MAKE A CROSSOVER CABLE BUT IF UR 1ST PC IS AHVING AN INTERNET BROADBAND CONNECTION AND U ALSO WANT TO CONNECT 2 COMPUTERS FOR SHARING AN INTERNET CONNECTION SO 1ST METHOD IS INSTALL 2ND LAN CARD ON UR 1ST SYSTEM IN WHICH HAS AN INTERNET BUT MAKE SURE IP RANGE SHOULD BE SAME AND 2ND METHOD IS U CNA PURCHASE A 8 PORT HUB.2ND METHOD IS LITTLE BIT COASTLY.SO GO FOR 1 ST METHOD.PL BEFORE INSTALLATION 2 LAN CARD ON SAME SYSTEM U SHOULD UPGRADE UR RAM OR SYSTEM CONFIGURATION.
