Duplicate IP Addresses
Which command would indicate Duplicate IP Addresses:
Sh interfaces or sh logging??
Thanks in advance.

With sh logging you can see messages regardin duplicate IP address detected by the router.

Hi Georg,
I've tried sh logging and didn't see any messages related to duplicate address.
Here is what I did:
1. Connected 2 2503 serial ports with back to back cable.
2.Configured ehternet ports on both with no keepalive to bring them to up/up state.
3. Enabled RIP routing on both
4. Configured e0 on one router matching ip address of s0 of another router
5. Issued sh logging on both routers-no duplicate message was lobserved.
Please advice.
Thanks
Joseph

the setup you have is not going to work because you cannot have interfaces on same network on a router. from my understanding it shouldn't allow you to assign an IP address on the S0 interface on the same network as Ethernet interface.
