We have a Cisco 2501 Router

What is difference "show version" and "show process memory" "and show memory" in Router memory ?

cisco 2500 (68030) processor 14336K/2048K bytes of memory.

2501Router# sh proc mem

Total: 15344700, Used: 5800672, Free: 9544028

2501Router# sh mem

Total(b) Used(b) Free(b)

Processor 13247548 5464416 7783132

I/O 2097168 336376 1760792

14336K, 15344700, 13247548..

why... this size is not equal??

sorry .. my english is a little...

thanks.

On a 2500 series the shared memory is taken from the DRAM . You have 16 MB of DRAM , 2 MB is used for shared mem and 16 MB for main memory, this is the 14336/2048 from the sh ver. If you look at the sh mem and add the processor and i/o memory together you get 16 MB . From the sh proc mem the missing memory is usred to hold the IOS image .
