I'm in the middle of designing a network with the following characteristic:
3 buildings - 700 nodes, 250 nodes & 100 nodes
My approach is based on the Cisco 3-Tier design architecture,
2950 switches for the access layer,
2550 L3 switch for top of the stack which provides ip routing on the edge right down to the core,
a pair of Cat6500 for the core, which then connects to the internet router.
100% Gigabit Backbone between switches.
Any design problems with this approach?
What other design issues should I tackle in this scenario? vlans?
Suggestions/comments appreciated, thanks in advance.
Regards,
Zeremy
